Project Details

The University of Melbourne’s scientific research has world-changing impact. Their problem was that the world didn’t know about it.

Made Possible By Melbourne was a citywide free exhibition of world-changing research that took these breakthroughs out of the University library and turned them into an unmissable attraction. Outdoor advertising space became interactive exhibits telling individual research stories. Glass cabinets at bus and tram shelters were turned into 3D modules of branded content. Each cabinet housed one of 14 museum exhibit-type stories that brought aspects of research about global welfare to life. For example, the exhibit promoting food that doesn’t waste water was filled with water, demonstrating the amount required to produce one single corn cob.

Working with agency McCann Melbourne and production company AIRBAG, I crafted electronics for multiple exhibits, solved engineering challenges, and helped deliver an unmissable exhibition that had over 16 million digital impressions, and 1.5 million content engagements.
